Motivational Monday

Motivational Monday...humm, I like that and am going to try to find something motivational every Monday from now on! I like it because motivation is something that I always struggle with. Sometimes, like today, I am ready to rock and roll and totally on the ball with leading a healthy life. My biggest struggle is sticking to a workout. I have a love hate relationship with running. I want so badly to lace up my Nikes and hit the sidewalks, but it isn't always that easy for me. Some days I can have a really good run while others I die within a few strides. This is why I have to switch things up. It is no secrete love love love Zumba! But, with work and my schedule, I can't make a class more then once a week if at all. This keeps me looking for new things to try.

And today, while bored out of my mind during a work training I searched Pinterest to pass the time. That is when I stumbled across the 100s workout. With Pandora Radio and the N*Sync station I was ready to try it out!
After the 100 jumping jacks I felt strong and energized thinking "I can totally do this!" and after the 70 leg lifts I thought "I'm totally going to die!" About thirty minutes later, 30 more leg lifts, a 10 minute 1 mile run, followed by a 5 minute walking cool down, I have successfully completed the 100s workout! I am a sweaty mess, my legs feel like lead, but I feel stronger just having completed this entire workout to the best of my ability.

The workout wasn't HARD, but it was difficult just going. I didn't take any time between sets to cool down. I wanted to keep my heart rate up and keep moving. I found the leg lifts the most challenging. (I have no core body strength, which is something I would love to change, but I hate doing ab workouts!) I enjoyed the jumping jacks the most, I always felt energized once I completed a set. I listened to music while doing this workout, and had difficulties singing and counting my exercises at the same time! I will definitely give this workout another go in a day or two.

I am happy that I tried something new and even happier that I have a new workout to switch things up with.

This is my new favorite saying!

Love, love, love,
