Motivational Monday

I am a person of habit. My life revolves around a schedule and I wouldn't want it any other way. Be it my normal daily schedule, my workout schedule, or attending church weekly, if I plan it out in my mind I know that it will get done. Habits are all mental and I read that it takes about three weeks to change your habits. Once you talk yourself into changing it, you are set!

I really need to come up with a better schedule for myself in the morning. I have the habit getting lost on Pinterest and "blogger land" and tend to run late for work every single day! Oops!

Have a great week!

I don't know much about history....

I can't name all of the presidents of the United States nor do I know much about politics, but one thing I do know is that President's Day is a holiday. A holiday that I get to celebrate since I work in a public school. This year for President's Day the district had a nice long break, we got a four day weekend! I welcome anytime I get off from work, so needless to say, I was quite excited for the break.

Friday I spent relaxing and running some errands. I had a giftcard from Express that was burning a hole in my pocket and lucky for me they were having a great sale so I was able to purchase two fabulous tops.

I needed some new clothing because Saturday was a girls night!

The day started off by dress shopping for Allie's wedding. When we got to the bridal shop we were pretty sure what dresses we wanted. We quickly retreated to dressing rooms and put on quite the fashion show. While all the dresses we had picked out were cute, they just weren't the right.

The bride's mom pulled some dresses off the racks when one she was holding caught my eye. No matter what, I HAD to try it on. As I zipped up the back of the dress I fell IN love! Wow, never had a dress made me feel so spectacular! And thankfully, everyone agreed! We all knew that I HAD to wear that dress as I stood next to Allie, so the rest of the girls found dresses from the same designer.

All the dresses we picked out couldn't be more perfect! When the ladies who worked there brought out Allie's dress, we put ours next to it, and they were all picture perfect. We couldn't believe how well they all complemented her dress.

It goes without saying that Allie is going to be the most beautiful bride, but as her bridesmaids we will all be able to stand with our heads held high next to her.

Dress shopping only made me that much more excited for her September wedding and all of her festivities.

After dress shopping we had lunch then retreated back to Allie's apartment where we shared some snacks, drinks,  stories, and lots of laughs.
Toasting the bride-to-be

We went out on the town and did some serious dancing. It was a perfect day and decided that we needed days like this more often.

Sunday was spent relaxing and catching up on sleep.

Monday I scrubbed and organized the entire house, did three loads of laundry, went grocery shopping, and started organizing the office. I also finally watching Twilight:Breaking Dawn, and found out that even vampire weddings make me tear up.

This weekend was perfect and all though I know all good things must come to an end, I'm sad to have to head back to work today. I still have so much I could get done at home. There will never be enough hours in a day!

Next time I will have off from work will be for spring break right before Easter, I am already counting down the days!

Motivational Monday

I can't believe that Lent starts on Wednesday. Who is going to get ashes?

I have grown up Roman Catholic, and have always believed in my religion, but after being married, I feel that I have found my religion. When I was little I was always told how a relationship with God works, but now that I am an adult, I have found how MY relationship with God works. This is still a work in progress for me, but it is something that I truly believe in, and want in my life.

Typically for Lent, I don't give up much, I usually just follow the "no meat on Friday" rule. This year, I am going to use Lent as motivation. I will sacrifice and work on myself (and my bad habits).

For Lent this year, I still plan on not eating meat on Friday along with not eating an after work snack, and not eating chocolate, and not drinking soda during the work week.

The snack after work and the no chocolate are going to be the toughest. This sounds pathetic, but hopefully I will be able to do this and come out strong.

Are you giving up anything for Lent?

How do you stay strong during the Lenten Season?

A different "Motivational Monday" post, but I need motivation in all areas of my life, not just staying fit.

Have a great week!

Pizza Friday

Have I mentioned that I adore Pinterest? You can find everything on it! I could spend hours if not days looking at everything and never get bored!

My favorite thing to look at are all of the recipes. There are so many desserts, healthy options, and lots that the hubby will love.

Tonight I made pizza rolls. Pizza is my favorite Friday meal. I typically don't cook on Fridays, but since I was off today, I thought I would try a new recipe.

I started by defrosting my bread dough this morning when I got up. I purchased frozen white and wheat dough from Wegmans.

While my dough was defrosting I ran out and purchased a rolling pin (I do not bake so I have never even used a rolling pin before!) Once the dough was fully defrosted I rolled it out into a large flat square and brushed olive oil on top.

First, I topped it with turkey pepperoni.

Next mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.

Then I rolled it up. And baked these babies for 25 minutes.

I made three rolls. One out of white dough with only pepperoni for the hubby. Then one with left over chicken cheese steak meat on wheat dough and a pepperoni on wheat dough for moi.

They were super good and super easy! Thank you Pinterest for making pizza Friday a success!

**You can find the full recipe from the original blog here!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Simple, but Perfect

The hubby and I had very a nice Valentine's Day.
This year, we decided that we would not do presents. We figured that we went way over board on Christmas, so there was no need. Instead, we decided to go out for dinner.

Typically, during the week we don't see very much of each other. I must confess that during the work week we don't even usually eat dinner together. I know this isn't good, but my stomach WOULD eat itself if I had to wait until 7:30 to eat each night.

We went to Bonefish for dinner. Our meal was amazing! (If you haven't been to a Bonefish I highly recommend it!) And what was even better then then meal was the company and conversation.

Marriage is not easy. It is something that needs to be worked at everyday. I felt like we reconnected last night. I think sometimes the hubby and I get lost in the shuffle of everyday life and forget to make just a few moments a day for each other. There were no cell phones, TVs, computers, or friends and family at dinner. It was just the two of us, and it was perfect.

I love how something as simple as just dinner can make me so happy!

Lots of Love

So I know that you should show love to the people around you everyday of the year, but I just love Valentine's Day! What is more sweet then and entire day devoted to love?
For the hubby and I, today is not just Valentine's Day, it is the half year point of our marriage. Today, we have been married one and a half years! Time is going way too fast, I wish it would slow down a tad.

Typically we just stay in on Valentine's day and I make a special meal, but not this year. We are going out to a nice dinner at Bonefish. I couldn't be more excited to go on a date with my hubby (especially on a Tuesday!) AND not to have to cook or clean up the kitchen!

Sending lots of love today. Enjoy!

Motivational Monday

To say I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today would be a complete understatement. I have the Monday blues, and bad! I desperately need to shake out of this funk, and I'm hoping some coffee will do the trick!

Frankly, right now, I can't even imagine coming home from work and working out. My sofa is already calling to me to come and snuggle up on it.

I know when I come home I will workout, but I am going to do what I feel. I know that by skipping a run will just worsen my mood, and that could be dangerous!

I have been running a lot and want to throw something new into the mix. Enter yoga and abs. I am a lazy exerciser and when I am done with my cardio I tend to skip any extras.

I have been doing one ten minute ab exercise everyday since I received my new DVD. It is only ten minutes, so even I can handle that. The workouts are awesome on it! I have like no ab strength, so I can feel every move for days after. There are five ten minute workout for you to choose from, which I love so I won't get bored with one workout, I totally recommend this DVD.

Finally, on Friday I received my yoga DVD. I started yoga in college and developed a love hate relationship with it. I think it is a great workout, but can be very painful. And painful it was with Jillian Michaels leading the workout. I could feel the burn! There are two 30 minute workouts on the DVD, one for beginners and one for intermediate yogis. I did the beginner workout for the first time yesterday, and I am in love! I hope to do this two to three times a week.

So maybe today, if I am not feeling a run, I might do some yoga or nap.....we shall see!
Have a great week!
