Motivational Monday

I definitely was lacking motivation to workout over the weekend. I mean it was Thanksgiving, the hubby was off, family was in town, there was lots of shopping and decorating to do and WHO wants to workout with all of this stuff going on?


Of course, I got my butt moving with remembering everything that I ate on Thanksgiving. The hubby and I had two meals. The first at my parent's house at 1:00 then the second at his parent's house at 6:00. We were lucky that they were spaced out decently and sure had our fill at both tables. 


Sunday, after seeing the beautiful weather forecast for the day, decided to go for a run in my neighborhood. Along with my iPhone and some tunes I ran farther then I ever have. I was (and still am) quite proud of myself! This was the motivation that I needed for the week!


I feel so good when I accomplish a workout goal! 


And today, I was up early to fit a workout in before heading out shopping with my mom. Today is my last day off, it's back to the old grind tomorrow so I plan on enjoying every second of today. And I knew I wouldn't be able to fully enjoy it without fitting some kind of workout in.


How do you keep motivated around the holidays and on vacation? Does shopping count as a workout? Humm...

  1. congrats on your far run! in the past i have lost all motivation during the holidays, but this year the wedding & honeymoon are all the motivation i need! hope you enjoyed the day shopping with your mom:)
