(I have been seriously waiting to write a post about this forever, and today seems to be the perfect day! No Motivational Monday today.)
Last summer my best friend, Allie, got engaged to a wonderful guy, Shawn. They had the perfect day in NYC where he popped the question. She spent a lot of time trying to figure out where and when they were going to get married, and when they finally had found the perfect place, she felt it was time to ask her friends to be in the bridal party.
In September we had all of our besties over to see our new house for the first time. And after a few drinks, her and Shawn dropped to their knees and popped the question...."Will you be my maid of honor?" I was speechless to say the least.
After a few tears and lots of hugs OF COURSE I accepted! I have never felt more honored.
Allie and I met back the first day of freshman year at PSU. We were neighbors in the dorms, and it also turned out we were both crazy. Crazy because we were also both Psychology majors. As it turned out we had a lot of classes together, and over the next four years of college we shared many of our classes together. Over school work, laughter, and well drinks of course, our friendship grew.
After graduation, not knowing what was going to happen to all of our friendships because we were all scattered, something great happened. We somehow, over the distance, all became closer. Especially Allie and I.
She stood beside me at my wedding, and I cannot wait to stand by her.
Today is her birthday, and even though we don't get to celebrate together, I'll be thinking about her and always wishing her the best.
