When I first saw the previews for this movie I thought: "HAHA this movie looks so awful! Who would ever want to see it?!" When it started to get some Oscar buzz, I was totally confused. A few co-workers saw it in theaters and I heard a little more of what it was about. That is when I KNEW I had to see it.
I studied Psychology at PSU and have always been fascinated with abnormal psychology. I think it is incredible how the mind works in some people.
Black Swan definitely lived up to all of its hype. Never being much of a fan of Natalie Portman, she surprised me that she could play Nina, such a sweet but dark character.
I really enjoyed guessing weather or not events were actually happening or if they were her hallucinations. Parts of the movie were quite disturbing and hard to watch. But the dancing and the music choices were amazing and right on point.
I really enjoyed this movie. And all though not a warm and fuzzy film, I still wanted to get up and dance like a ballerina when it was over. The end left you guessing what actually happened to Nina and wanting more. I definitely recommend if you have a strong stomach and have a liking for all things abnormal!
