Better luck THIS time?

After the heartbreak over losing that house, the hubby and I began our search again on Monday with a heavy heart. I had a personal day, and the hubby was off of work. Our search began at 1:00. We were scheduled to see four houses.

The first house was a mess. Smelly. Old. And I'm pretty sure I saw a mouse in a dirt mound that was in the basement!

The second house was love. It was a small bi-level home with hard wood floors. Newly remodeled bathroom. Finished basement with tile floors. With a dining room. Dishwasher. And large kitchen.

Needless to say, no matter what we saw after that house would compare. Hubby and I fell head over heals and were ready to make a move.

We finished out the day and looked at the other two homes. We made a date with our realtor for Tuesday at 6:00 to go back to the second home and take another look.

Tuesday came, and hubby and I ventured over to the house. Before we looked around we decided not to waist anymore time and signed the paperwork to make our first offer. As we looked around the house I snapped lots of photos and definitely knew that we had to try and get this house.

The offer was submitted on Tuesday evening. Wednesday at work was AWFUL! I kept checking my phone to see if the hubby had sent me a message about weather or not the took or countered our offer. I couldn't wait for the day to end so I could wait by the phone with him.

Finally it was 3:00 and I had Zumba. I tried calling the hubby and when I finally got a hold of him he told me the had countered. Out realtor advised us to counter back in the middle of their offer, so we did.

After dinner the hubby surprised me with renting "Little Fockers" and we just settled down to watch it when his phone rang. It was our realtor. They were going to meet us in the middle. It was settled! We got the house!!!!

Inspection is tentatively set for NEXT Friday, the 13th. I am super excited, but after our last house, I know not to get too excited because anything can happen.

So, I am going to keep my fingers (and toes) crossed that this works out. I am absolutely in love with this house. And people say things happen for a reason, and I now know that for some reason we were not meant to get the first house because something much better was waiting right around the corner (literally!) for us. Hope it all works out......love love LOVE!
