Property Virgins

Yesterday the hubby and I went out with our realtor to check out some more houses. We were scheduled to see three starting at 5:30.

We pulled up to the first house, a little brick cape cod. As soon as the car came to a stop, I had quite the mighty good feeling. The neighborhood it is in is nice with sidewalks (something I have always wanted). We first checked out the large fenced in backyard and the porch area. Then we walked inside through the kitchen. While small, I could feel the possibilities. I could see myself eating breakfast there.

As we continued to walk through the rest of the house, something felt right, almost like home. The house is move in ready, all though the Mr. and I would like to make some updates eventually.

After checking out the entire house and chatting about what would go where (especially our clothing since the closets would never hold my entire wardrobe) we moved on to check out the other two properties.

While they both were nice, we couldn't stop thinking about the first house we saw.

We set another date with our realtor for Wednesday at 5:30 so we could go back and bring our parents. When we got home we got some news. Apparently we are not the only people who are interested in this house. There is someone else who had a second showing. After some minor discussion, we decided that we need to be pro-active. We re-scheduled our second showing for TONIGHT and our realtor is going to write up the papers so we can make an offer!

I can't believe this is happening! I felt my stomach start to churn. That is about when I started having second thoughts. What if the kitchen is WAY too small? OMG THERE IS NO DISHWASHER, CAN WE REALLY LIVE WITHOUT A DISHWASHER?! The only full bath is pretty small and ALSO PINK TILE! Bedroom closets...SMALL! It is scary when you start to think about how much money you will be spending and what you might not be getting along with the deal.....

I had a pretty rough nights sleep weighing all the pros and cons in my head. That is when at 6:00 I had my      ahh-haa moment. While tossing and turing I jarred my hubby awake. He gave me a big hug and cuddled. That is when I  thought to myself, this would be our first home. And if it's meant to be it'll be. We have made this relationship work through ups and downs so we can turn a house into a home no matter how small some areas may be.

Life isn't perfect, it is what we make of it! I am so excited to go back to possibly our future home tonight!
